Duffy Assembly - Niva Retimanu

During Assembly, we had a duffy role model who was a news reader and a trained journalist based in Auckland, New Zealand, Her name was Niva Retimanu. Niva Retimanu was born in Invercargill a city near down in the Southern tip in New Zealand South island, also born to Samoan parents. Niva has taken part of the radio industry and has been working there for 30 years. One more fact about her is that she is best known for her distinctively deep and rich toned voice.

First she had talked about herself and about her Job. She said that in the South island it used to snow, hail and rain a lot of time. Niva used to go to the library every time just to read a book. She brought a book with her to read to us. The name of the book was “Kiss Kiss, Yuck Yuck”. Niva said to repeat what she says the words was “ It’s cool to read and it’s good to archive”.

After that she handed out duffy books to the classes, also everyone was singing the duffy song.

French Toast - Procedure Writing

What is a French toast? French toast is a bread dipped in a mixture of hardened beaten egg, often added with milk and fried on both sides.

Ingredients:

• Egg
• Milk
• Bread
• Black Pepper
• Oil
• Salt

Utensil:

• Pan
• Whisk
• Big Spoon
• Paper towel

1.First you crack 12 eggs into a big bowl

2.Then add salt and black pepper into the bowl

3.Next you start stirring it until you the yellow yolk is gone

4.Afterwards you add in milk to make it taste nice and good

5.As soon as you finished mixing the egg, you turn on the frying pan and embed the oil inside.

When you pour it in, you would hear the sizzling sound just like the sausage being fried.

You grab one bread to put it inside the egg, start flipping the bread back and forth so it doesn’t break into pieces.

Last of all you have the bread in the frying pan ready to be eaten.

This is how french toast is made.

Grease Production - AGGS

Yayaa!! Year 6, 7 and 8 had an opportunity to go to Auckland Girls Grammar School to watch a Grease Production hosted by St Paul boys and AGG Girls.There was a lot of schools there that we saw, mostly Auckland Girls.

As the show was about to start, everyone were so happy and shouting and screaming saying !!WOOHOO!!Lights out and every single character who participated walked out to the front with happiness.!!CROWDS GO WILD!!

The production was very good and lit.My favourite Character was Sandy and Danny.I felt very happy and confident now.

Fear

On a fine sunday morning, my Nana woke me up and told me to go and find some clothes for Sunday School.On that morning I had nothing to eat and my stomach was rumbling like it’s saying to me,”go and eat”, but I was just thinking in my mind not to go and eat or I will get a sore stomach when I go to Sunday school.

My mum told me to hurry up and get ready but I said it’s too cold, she said, hurry up before it’s 10:00 and I saw her face, she was angry.I had fear and that fear came out of nowhere because my mum was going to growl me, but then she didn’t.

Then I started to get up and get ready.Once I was finished, me and my siblings went to Sunday school.When we arrived we had to go to our own classes and also we had a test to do.When our priest said that there is going to be other priests coming in to test us,I was like !Oh No! I didn’t learn it, there were heaps of fear inside my stomach.As the test finished I was happy that it was over.

After that, church started it started at 11:00.When we stood up to sing nobody sang, so then I had to sing out loud.The only thing that I was afraid of was if I sing I might make a mistake and then I will have more fear and not have any more confident.

Finally church finished, I was so glad everything was over.On that sunday night when my parents came back, Me and my Nana got in the van with my sister and my brother.Once we got in it smelled weird, so then my mum came outside and tried take the smell away from the van.

My mum told my dad to get a vivid and write this word on my back and she putted oil on my head that was mixed with Vix and some kind of other ingredients.Later on I was all fed with my fear and so then we left and went back to my house.The funny part is that I was supposed to sleep at my Nana’s house, but then I came back with my sister to go and sleep with my little brother.

People Should Not Throw Rubbish In The Sea

Sadly creatures in the sea are already affected by rubbish in the sea. The fish get caught in rubbish and they eat the rubbish and choke on the. If the sea life is affected then people will not be able to eat food from the sea.

If people keep dumping their rubbish in the sea, it will make the sea look ugly and unwelcoming to people. The sea is beautiful because it is nice and blue but if there is a lot of rubbish in the sea, then no one will like looking at the sea.

People who enjoy going to the sea for fun will not be able to enjoy the sea. The surfers will not like surfing with a lot of rubbish and the divers will also be affected because they will have to dive with rubbish in their way.
